Covington Links uses all of the natural surroundings in an imaginative and challenging fashion.
Four holes lie next to the Missouri river, and ponds come into play on nine holes.
Towering cottonwoods and a variety of other trees, including willows, Russian olives, ash, and evergreens line the fairways. The fairways and rough are a mix of bluegrass and rye grass.
One of the most difficult holes is the lengthy 16th. With a perfect drive you are left with a long approach shot around a cottonwood that overhangs the right side of the fairway.
A fun aspect of the course is its unorthodox arrangement with four par 5's on the front nine.
Covington Links ranks as one the most scenic and variety-filled courses in Nebraska.

Directions from Lincoln: From I-80, take Hwy 77 north 112 miles to the I-129 interchange. From the interchange, continue north 2.1 miles on Hwy 77 to West 13th St. in South Sioux City. Turn left and go about 1.3 miles to the entrance on your right.
Directions from Omaha: Take I-29 north 83 miles to I-129. Take I-129 west 3 miles to Hwy 77 North. Take Hwy 77 North and continue as described above.
