Ravenna Golf Club is an open layout stretching across two tall hills.
Bluegrass fairways and rough blend together into one and are cut short.
Every hole runs either sidehill, uphill or downhill. The tee boxes provide the most level lies on the course.
Several of the bentgrass greens have steep drop offs around their edges.
Holes seven and nine are unusual.
The seventh runs up a ravine that lies between the hills. The walls down the right and left side of the seventh can help correct an errant shot by repelling the ball back to the fairway.
The ninth is a short par 4 with a tee box 60 feet above the green. You are tempted to go for the green, but out-of-bounds on both sides and a steep lipped green-front bunker make you think twice.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 279 (Minden). Go north 2.5 miles on Hwy 10 to Hwy 30. Turn right and go 2.05 miles to the paved road at the Ravenna sign. Turn left and go 19.5 miles to the Hwy 2 junction. From the junction, continue north 1.0 miles on Hwy 68 to Sherman St. in Ravenna. Turn left and go 1 block to Alba Ave. Turn right and go 1 block to the entrance.
