Spring Lake used to be a dairy farm and was converted to a golf course in 1933.
The layout has some interesting features. Hazards like sand and water are absent. In their place you will find blind approach shots and a street.
The majority of holes have significantly elevated greens and tees with low-lying fairways that fill the chasms between them. Consequently, many approach shots are like hitting to a table top.
The sixth green is isolated by steep drop-offs on all sides.
The unique ninth hole requires you to hit over a street to an elevated green near the clubhouse. A fence protects passing cars.
