This level course sits in the middle of old Niobrara. Niobrara was moved south to higher ground in 1975 due to persistent swamp like conditions from Missouri River overflow.
The land was converted to a golf course by local volunteers. In the summer of '93 an unplanned series of hazards developed when basements of houses from old Niobrara became sink holes.
Several fairways featured the chasms which played havoc with golf scores. Flooding later forced the move of some holes to higher ground.
Niobrara Valley is a fun course with or without its unusual hazards.
