Heralded as an instant golf classic upon its completion, Sand Hills golf club is the most celebrated course in the midwest.
Utilizing the perfectly suited natural lay of the land, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw designed a links style course that draws membership from around the globe.
Eighteen ready made holes emerged from the rolling sand hills during the design phase. Scattered prairies grass and natural sand traps or "blow outs" shape the holes. The holes vary in difficulty as the wind changes.
The 4th and the 13th are stout challenges requiring length and accuracy to make par. The 18th is a spectacular finishing hole that rewards anyone who challenges the bunkers but stays in the fairway.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 177 (North Platte); north on US Hwy 83 about 6 miles to NE Hwy 97; north on #97 to milemarker 55 (24.4 miles north of Conoco station in Tryon); west at Sand Hills Golf Club sign; about 3 miles to clubhouse.
