Gothenburg has a wonderful golf tract to brag about. This unique course was rated #3 as Best New Affordable US Courses by Golf Digest in 1999 and #35 in 2002 by Golf Week in Best Modern US Courses category.
Built in the late '90's, the layout fully utilizes the natural lay of the rolling sand hills. It is an open course void of trees and water hazards. Giant "blow outs"- areas where erosion has opened the soil down to the sand base- serve as challenging obstacles.
In all, over 50 bunkers dot the landscape. The rough is native prairie grass and wildflowers, standing over one foot tall in many areas.
Large Scottish greens are featured along with wide fairways to help make up for the devastating rough. The long uphill par 4 eighteenth is the most difficult on the course.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 211 (Gothenburg). Go north 2.5 miles on Hwy 47 through Gothenburg to Road 768. Turn left and go west 1.5 miles to the entrance on your left.
