Cozad Country Club is notable for having been the site of the Haymaker Open since 1951.
The layout is open and level. The fairways are in good condition and are lined by lush bluegrass rough. Trees are scattered about between several fairways and there is mounding along some of the fairways.
Out-of-bounds markers come into play on holes 2 and 4. The unguarded small greens are fairly tame but have some subtle breaks.
The layout gets testing on holes 3, 4, and 5 where a scenic creek full of foliage comes into play and the contour of the land becomes more uneven.
The course was expanded to 18 holes in 2000. Enhancements include 3 lakes, 19 bunkers, larger greens and the same creek comes into play on the back nine as did on the front.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 222 (Cozad). Go north on Hwy 21 about 1 mile into Cozad and over the overpass to 7th St. Turn right and go 1 block to 'D' St. Turn right and go 3 blocks to Hwy 30. Turn left and go 1.5 miles to an unnamed paved road. Turn left and go .2 miles to the clubhouse area.
